“Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, my Taengu !” With a wide grin plastered across her face and a party hat strapped to her head, Ahyeong did her best to keep a steady beat. Singing wasn’t her forte. Or at least not in front of people. Only the walls of her shower stall and her plants had heard her sing before, truly sing, for she was usually too nervous to do it in front of people, but for Taehyung she’d make an exception.
It was a late celebration and she felt guilty for it, but she supposed it was better than nothing. In her eyes, he deserved the world, so anything she could give to him would be inadequate in the long run. That being said, she didn’t leave out anything. Ahyeong made sure to bake a cake as well as a full dinner for the two of them, along with birthday decorations, including balloons, party hats of all sizes, sparklers, and even streamers. Perhaps she was going a bit overboard with the decorations, especially since they only seemed to make her small apartment seem that much smaller with little foil strings dangling from pure white walls and colourful pastries lining the bland white surface of her kitchen counter-top. It was the first time she had invited him over to her place and she wanted to make sure everything was memorable and exciting for him. “Happy birthday to you ! Now, make sure to blow out the candles and make a wish. Oh, but don’t tell me what your wish is! It won’t come true that way!” @gptae
