Awkward...; Jinhwan
It was late when Taeil made his escape. He stumbled through the streets of the slums, a beer bottle in one hand and his pockets filled with lose change and the jewelry he had snatched. Though he had only barely managed to evade danger this time around, he was none too cautious as he zigzagged his way through the alleys.
He wasn’t quite drunk yet, but he was well on his way. Every once in a while, he’d stop in the middle of the streets, alone, to take a large, exaggerated swig of whiskey. He’d do that, then promptly spit it out in disgust, and minutes later... He would do it again.
Though drinking did nothing to help, his loss of balance had come more or less from fighting. While a quick runner and an even quicker thinker, he was none too strong with his fists and therefore lacked the ability to defend himself against bigger, badder guys.
Feeling beat, though he wasn’t defeated, he staggered into the first building he saw that he had the means to get into. It was dark, dingy, and covered in a thin film of dust.
Squinting, Taeil looked around. Through his slight drinking haze and with the lack of proper lighting, he saw much of nothing. He took several careful steps forward, mapping out the area with his feet in hopes of finding the best place to sleep.
His foot felt something kind of soft, like a big flesh lump on the floor. He muttered a quick, “What is that?” As he put his weight on it, moving his foot around and getting a feel for the object in front of him before he stumbled forward and flung himself to the floor.
Taeil scrambled to sit up and survey the scene; before him, he saw another young man sprawled on the floor.
His face flushed, whether it was embarrassment or from just being a useless drunkard, Taeil didn’t quite know.
