@mingyuxmi
it’s unsurprising that he’s lounging on the sofa, long legs spread over its entire length and head propped up against the armrest when the announcement broadcasts. he’s flicking through the channels, very much aware that whatever he chooses will just be background noise anyway, when he calls out to his boyfriend in the kitchen. his brows don’t quite furrow even though he can’t find anything that’s quite perfect enough to quietly fill the otherwise silence of their apartment, not until he finds himself unable to continue to scroll through, the television seemingly stuck.
“hey, babe, I think the remote’s bitten the bullet. can you bring some batteries when you come in, please? thanks!” he doesn’t wait for mingyu to confirm that he even heard him before he focuses back on the screen, still stupidly pressing buttons as if it’ll make a difference. slapping the back against his hand, he tries again. still nothing.
finally, whatever he’d ended up on began broadcasting, the screen taken over by a distinct, shining gold colour. his eyes narrow curiously as he throws the useless controller to the seat beside him, swinging his legs over the edge to face the television. “mingyu?” he calls again, glancing momentarily over his shoulder. “gyu! come here, this is really... hurry, you’ll miss it. something... weird is going on on the tv.”
