Temptation || Hunter & Mia
It had been months since Mia had fled England, leaving behind her megalomanic and abusive father, her friends, the clubs and the drugs and she was working hard to move past certain traumas. Tonight though, a friend from her photography class had begged her to come out and eventually she succumbed to temptation of the old habit.
At the edge of Pyro Hills there was large building, painted in dark tones to blend into the night. Around the doorway, a red glow pulsed from inside the club. The red strobe lamp was the only light inside, giving the room a spinning, blood-washed effect. Fog covered the floor, and the walls which were mostly made of mirror, reflected everything and everyone. Pounding music slammed down from speakers somewhere in the ceiling and Mia could feel the bass under her leather heels.
This early in the night, there was still a mixed crowd — more humans than supernaturals. That would change after midnight. She strode purposely to the bar, whispered something in the bartender’s ear then bent over and grabbed a bottle of something. She'd heard most beverages here were toxic to humans, but she’d be fine. Sitting on a polished black table she took a drink, tipping her head back and getting lost in the music.
Suddenly everything went black and she gasped. When her ice blue eyes flew open; visions of the night she was turned came unbidden to her mind and she almost screamed as the pain was real once more. A man she vaguely recognised began to shake her and she growled.
"Air. I just need air." She said apologetically a second later, although the music was too loud for him to hear. He lead her outside and she leaned against the cool bricks. What the hell happened in there? Mia thought wildly, but as she began to reflect she was interrupted when the guy reached for her skirt and pulled her waist closer. Everything flashed again and before she knew what she was doing, Mia tore his hand from her hips and sunk her teeth into his pulsing flesh. When no more blood passed through her lips, she dropped his limp figure to the ground and starred in shock at what she'd just done.
