Help A Teacher Get Ready for In-Person Learning!

Hello! My name is Merin, and I am a teacher in St. Louis, Missouri. My school district is preparing to return to in-person learning, after being virtual since August. I will be required to teach concurrently (both my in-person AND my virtual students at the same time), so am looking to add some things to help make my in-person space as fun, functional, and safe as possible. My goal is to create a classroom space that is welcoming and safe for all of my students, whether they are in-person with me in the classroom or joining us via Zoom. I also switched grade levels this year, from second to Kindergarten, so still need a lot of age-appropriate activities for my Kinders to work on once we’re back in person.

I have created a Wish List on Amazon with a number of items that I would love to have for my classroom. On this list, you will find some materials to help my students learn their letters, help with their writing and reading, and some basic materials that we use daily. I also have a Wish List of Books that I’d love to add to my classroom library. All of these items will help me create the positive atmosphere I want for my kiddos as they enter into their first year of school.

I am hoping that you might be willing to purchase something off the lists to help my kiddos (and me!) out. And if you can’t spare any money, even a reblog would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for giving my list a look! ♥

I made it through my first week of teaching Virtual Kindergarten! My kiddos are honestly doing really well with it, for the most part, so I give them and their families major props. Happy 3-day weekend to me! ❤️

Help Me Update My Classroom!

Hello! My name is Merin, and I am a 2nd Grade teacher in a suburb outside St. Louis, Missouri. Due to my district going through a complete restructuring of its schools, I will be moving to a new school for this upcoming school year, which also means an entirely new classroom setup. I’m looking forward to meeting my new group of students and their families, and am also excited to be able to update some things in my classroom to help make their year a positive one.

I believe children deserve the very best that we can give them. Many of my kiddos are from low socioeconomic backgrounds with many difficulties in their home life. As such, I want my classroom to be a place that makes them feel happy, inspired, and most of all safe.

I have created a Wish List on Amazon with a number of items that I would love to have for my classroom. These include organizational things to make my life easier, various supplies, and also items for my kiddos to help create the positive atmosphere I’m striving for. I also have a Book List with some titles I’d love to add to my classroom library.

→ IG Stories - Stay At Home Edition, cont.

We got official word this week that school would be online-only through the end of the school year. We knew the news was coming, but it’s amazing how hard it hit me reading that email from our superintendent. I hate knowing that the last time I got to see my students was March 17th - they’ll be moving to a new school next year, as we’re only PreK-2nd grade, and I have no idea how they’re truly doing or if they even understand what’s going on. I recorded a read aloud today to share with them just to let them see my face and hear a story - some sense of normalcy in a sea of craziness. If you can spare some good thoughts, please send them to my kiddos, their families, and all the teachers out there who didn’t get a chance for a proper goodbye. 💔
