"i know you would. that's why i am so worried, elian." he knew the safest move was to stay at the cabin. to hide away for a decade or two, until things blew over and he was safe to roam again, but he couldn't lose elian again. he'd die if he lost elian again. going with elian meant putting them in harms way. how could he live with himself then? how could he go on if something happened to them, he didn't think there was much of a point to going on.
