Former Mule frontman P.W. Long has made a career of playing the whiskey-soaked loser, leading his ever-changing cast of backing musicians through swampy, bluesy, sad-sack songs involving drinkin', leavin', sinnin', and stays in the county jail. On the 2003 Touch and Go release Remembered, these themes resurface with Long's familiar growl and biting guitar stomp.

Another P.W. Long for good measure. The music kicks in finally a minute into the video. This video's maybe not the best single testament to how good P.W. can be, but if you can track down the album "We Didn't See You on Sunday" you're likely to thank me later.

Going up to C-Bus this weekend to hang with Rob Jones and Brendino. Jones and I are both fans of P.W. Long (back from my college, alt-country, "devour anything rootsy sounding" phase) (anybody know P.W. Long? What's he up to lately?) and Jones turned me on to this Mule record back in the day. P.W. is the front man for Mule, but this is the tamest, prettiest of the songs, the rest are abrasive, in-your-face rawk. Which is good, sometimes, but right now I want you to hear this one, it's my favorite.
