Summary: Lightning McQueen has always believed being a racer means pushing past the pain...until his knees remind him otherwise. From starting as a one-man show to collapsing mid-race in front of his crew when he ignores the warning signs, Lightning’s career is marked by a pain he can’t outrun. But it’s also marked by the people who step up for him one way or another: Mack, Doc, Cal and Bobby, and soon, the whole town. In both big and small gestures, they teach him that asking for help isn’t weakness. It's a part of life. This took me 2 excruciating months to write. Also probably the longest oneshot I've written period, so I hope you guys enjoy it 🙏🏼🙏🏼
