The three and a half hours between glee and going over to Abel’s were the longest period of free time that Nick had had in over a week, and it turned out to be too much for him. He’d gone to the internet to see who was free, and while he hadn’t talked to Abel much at all, he was grateful to the Dom for opening up his suite to him. At 6:30, he packed his overnight bag, and at 6:50, he made his way across campus to the Dominant dormitory. He knelt down in front of the proper door and waited until his watch said 7:00 exactly, when he lifted his hand and knocked three times. @abelberry
Plucking a book from the shelf Abel leafed through the pages. He was always pleased to find his student's published works dotting the shelves of bookstores around the nation. He tucked the book into the nook of his arm and continued down the aisle spotting a poster promoting a new book that had come out that day. Abel swallowed hard, it was Mara. Sure he was happy for her successes, and he'd read every one of her books, but something about the title of this one made him feel uneasy.
Abel moved to the table of books with her name penned on the cover. He flipped to the back of the book eyes tracing over her author's bio. A long sigh fell from his mouth. "Anything I can help you with sir?" A plucky employee had wandered over to him. Abel shook his head. "The author is coming in for a signing this afternoon." The employee motioned to the book Abel was holding, Mara's book. "Thanks for letting me know." Abel nodded, bringing the book along with the others he'd plucked from the shelf to the counter to pay.
Quickly paying for his books, Abel's head was spinning, his stomach in knots. Part of him knew he needed to face her, but how could he. He'd left her. She probably didn't want to see him anyways. Abel crossed the street ducking inside a coffee shop and taking a seat by the window, in perfect view of the bookstore. He sat for a few hours waiting for the signing to begin and nursing an americano he'd purchased.
He saw cars arrive, and he could just barely see through the long line of people that had arrived to meet Mara and get their books signed. He swallowed his pride waiting until the line was almost at it's end. Abel gathered his things and joined the line, keeping himself hidden until it was his turn. He slid the book onto the table. "Hello Miss Waterhouse." He mused softly. "Can you make this one out to Abel."

Summary: Headcanons of Nick giving three different people visible hickeys, as per Kurt’s dare.
Nick was surprised at how simple of a dare Kurt had given him, but he was even more surprised that it was actually one of the more difficult ones for him to complete. He’d been doing the more intense dares with people he trusted more, so it was definitely making him reach out to people he didn’t talk to quite as often for this one.
First up was Silas, who’d agreed to get a hickey and make them lunch, too. They met up at Silas’s room during the lunch hour on Thursday, and Nick asked if they could get the hickey out of the way first so that it wasn’t hanging over their heads and they could enjoy lunch. Silas agreed, and they both sat on the bottom bunk bed while Nick took charge. He felt incredibly awkward doing it and focused pretty much solely on sucking and nibbling on a spot on the other boy’s neck to leave a hickey. He felt incredibly awkward doing it, and he was sure it felt just as awkward to Silas. Once he was satisfied with the size and color of the hickey, he pulled back and thanked his friend. Silas then went to get their lunch, a couple of turkey sandwiches and some steamed vegetables, and Nick did his best to steer conversation away from any of the recent awkwardness with Silas’s brother and Kit and to focus on things with their classes and the event.
Nick hadn’t really been thinking about giving a girl a hickey when he’d asked for volunteers, but he was grateful to Monica for volunteering nonetheless. He invited her into his room when she arrived and offered her something to drink, but they ended up getting into the meat of the dare right away. They sat on Blaine’s bunk much like he had with Silas, and he felt even more awkward focusing on creating a hickey on her neck than he had the first time. He didn’t even really know where to put his hands, since he didn’t want to make her more uncomfortable than he felt she probably already was. It took him a few minutes to really get a good-size hickey on her, because he kept checking with her to make sure she was okay with everything. After he was done, he thanked her and told her that they should plan to get together to talk about presentations after the truth or dare event was over.
Last but not least was Abel, and this time, he was going to receive a hickey of his own in return. On Monday at lunch time, he headed over to Abel’s dorm, kneeling on the floor outside before he was allowed in. They sat on the couch next to one another and awkwardly discussed what they were going to do. In the end, they started by kissing one another, and Nick let Abel move down to his neck and give him his hickey first. He had to admit that he was kind of really turned on by the makeout session with Abel, whereas the first two hickeys had been more of an “I’m on a mission” sort of thing. This time, he was actually able to enjoy it. He was blushing and slightly hard in his jeans by the time Abel had completed his end of the dare, and then Nick climbed onto his lap and took over to create his own hickey on the Dom’s neck. He was red and pretty turned on when he finished, and they only had a little bit of time before they had to get back to their classes. Nick offered to make them some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches they could eat on the go, and they were each on their way before long, both with a fresh hickey visible on their necks.
Annabel knew something was wrong. Abel’s texts were so short and vague, the complete opposite of his usual demeanor. Her mind raced with a million thoughts as to what could be so bad but rather than try to solve the mystery, she slipped a pair of slippers on and quickly left her apartment. What if her best friend was seriously hurt or worse yet, his cancer was back? Annabel couldn’t handle losing Abel. He was one of the few people she had left in New Quinton. Rather than assume things, she pressed the gas pedal and sped out of her driveway. She was a little messed up on pills and alcohol but no more than usual and knew she’d be okay driving to Bojangles. Luckily for the pair everything in their town was so close and it was a short drive; made even shorter by Annabel’s speeding. A couple minutes later she was pulling into the parking lot and halting to a stop, breaks squeaking loudly.
Spotting his truck as soon as she got out of her car Annabel ran over. “Abel!?” She shouted as she stood on her toes to look in the cab for her friend but he wasn’t there. She heard a groan and ran around to the back of the truck and saw him laying down. “Abel! Abel!” She barked at him to get his attention as she climbed in. Dressed in heels and a mini skirt, she struggled to get up into the bed of the truck and rolled her eyes when a couple guys walking out of the fast food chain began cat calling her because her skirt came up. Once in the bed, she kneed down beside him. “Hey, what’s going on? Talk to me. You said it was bad.. What’s bad? What’s happening?”
Rustling around an unpacked box Clea tossed out random odds and ends, a couple books, unopened letters, a bobble head dash board dancer and a few random post cards. After a few moments the girl stood up a sealed box with fancy writing on the front. Tearing the box open she moved back to the kitchen waving the bottle in front of her like it was a prize. “I knew it was around her some where.” Kicking an empty packing box out of the way she sat the bottle on the counter. “I haven’t really got to finish unpacking yet.” Shrugging she went to yet another box, this one labeled kitchen in her scribbled hand writing. “Would it be nostalgic of us to do shots out of Disney cups?” Beaming she sat two clear cups, each decorated with a different child-hood movie. One Lion King the other The hunchback of notre dame. “My two favorite movies..do you know these two are the only Disney movies where the bad guy actually kills someone- I still cry when Scar kills Mufasa.”
Lifting herself up on the counter she tips some tequila into her cup. Eyeing the level she adds a little more. Salt on her hand, licks it off, downs the shot; eyes squinted shut she reached for a cut up lime. Pressing the fruit between her lips she sucks the pulp for a moment. “It doesn’t matter how many times I drink tequila I never get used to it.” Shaking the bottle out for him to take Clea watches for his reaction to the burning alcohol. Sitting back on the counter an all white cat pads it’s way to her lap. “This is Cat.” Petting behind his ears Clea never would have thought her life would of ended up this way. Drinking shots in California, with a total stranger while Kodaline strums as background noise. “So tell me something I don’t know about you-” Tilting her head she gave him a thoughtful look. “You can’t be all self obsessed and obvious.”
This place was beautiful, like a work of art painted across a spanning canvas. It was nearing the end of October, and rearing into the month of holiday cheer and ridiculously catchy Christmas carols all over the radio. To think she could have been nervous about coming to such a cute little get together, could only confuse almost anyone who crossed her. Though it seemed her nerves couldn't make her back down this time, and neither could her father. That was a hopeful thing, though she would often find herself worrying about him, last night was the first night away from home in months.
Stopping by Abel's tent to grab the sandwiches, she sent him a bright smile before clutching onto his hand, and beginning to walk into the woods. The clearing she knew wasn't too far from here, but she hoped she wouldn't get lost. The woods were quite the huge mass of land and dead trees. "They are not peanut butter right?" She looked over at him, raising a brow.
Sitting with her knees up to her chest, she awaited for his final text. She didn't exactly expect to send him a pun and leave the conversation with him telling her that he had lied about most of the things he has said he's done. She could have pushed it in the back of her head and simply pretended not to care but a part of her knew that she needed to confront him about it. Even if he didn't feel like saying much about the subject, she still wanted to talk to him about it.
Sighing, she shoves her phone into the pocket of her jeans and throws on a hoodie, that depicted one of those college football teams, although it could be basketball. She wasn't entirely too sure about the origins of it and frankly she didn't really care. Rushing down the steps, her father caught her about to head out the door causing him to raise a brow. "Oh hey Daddy, I'm just going out to see a friend" She smiled softly, pressing a kiss to his cheek before he shrugged and flopped back down onto the couch.
They hadn't had much conversation, it was really one-sided most of the time. She missed her daddy, now she could really only call him a father. She had a little way to walk from her house to his, but she didn't exactly have much of a choice. She didn't have a license and even if she did, she wouldn't be caught dead in a car alone or behind the wheel for that matter. It hadn't taken as long as she expected it too, but maybe that was because she hadn't really been caught deep enough in her thoughts to make it a slow walk.
Stepping onto his porch, she looked at his door for what seemed like forever before knocking. "Abel I'm here" She waited for him patiently, rocking on the heels of her shoes.
In a dorm room laid a white envelope on the bed with a name scrawled in cursive. The room was empty except for the furniture and occasional mess and a dozen red roses on one of the desks. It was just a bit past lunch, the suns rays shining brightly through the window illuminating the otherwise dark room. The wooden door opened and in came a boy with wet hair due to his previous shower wearing a thin, black sweater and a pair of dark jeans and vans. The boy scooped up the envelope along with the necessities before heading back out.
Yeah, so. Theo was nervous. But he was excited. So excited that he was going to spill the big surprise a week early and he honestly wasn’t even ashamed of it. The gift had been something he had planned for a few weeks, took a lot of time and quite a bit of money, but he had a job and Isaac offered to help in which Theo insisted he’d pay back once he had the money. He was making his way to his boyfriend’s with a wide grin never leaving his face. He thought this present out, thought it would be perfect and only hoped Abel would agree. God, he fucking hoped he liked it.
Theo may have looked a bit ridiculous on his journey to the dormatory across campus, his speeds ranging from a brisk walk to a run to even an excited skip here and there. He just wanted to get there. He finally reached the building, a bit out of breath and once inside signed himself in and went up to his boyfriends room. He stood outside the door for a minute, the edges of the envelope frayed from his nervous picking. He composed himself and ran a quick hand through his hair before knocking on the door, gift held by his side in his other hand.
