Monstrous | Blair & Youngjae
@mpyoungjae:
Youngjae was not having a good day, he’d run out of cigarettes, the man he loved was back but didn’t remember him, he’d barely slept and he’d sung badly at his class. He looked at the girl, the woman, the bartender, who was talking to him while he drowned his sorrows and debated who would be the right person for him to start on and get his head kicked in down a back alley somewhere. Until his mind went quiet and his heart hurt a little less.
“Where is the compromise here? I’m a monster.” He said quietly, looking down at his beer. “and this is what i deserve. I deserve to be forgotten.” He deserved what he got, being stupid enough to believe that he would ever get a happy ending, it was never the monster who married a prince at the end of the story, all he had to do was wait for a hero to put him out of his misery, until then he would let his heart break every day. “I deserve this.”
Blair was not even close to being the nicest or the sweetest person on the island, but it broke her heart to see someone like Youngjae. She didn’t know him well, had only seen him around a few times, but he didn’t seem like a bad person. He was lost, hurting, and Blair knew how that felt. In fact, she felt exactly how he did on many lonely nights.
“Trust me, I’ve seen my fair share of monsters - mortal and God,” she responded, wiping down the bar table, “And you’re not close to being at the top of that list. I daresay that you’re not nearly as monstrous as you think you are.” She tossed the rag out, checking to see that her manager wasn’t around before pouring the boy a second beer - he needed it. Blair pushed it over the table to him before taking the previously empty glass, “There’s a musical that very popular in America and I haven’t seen it before but there’s one song that I like from it. It says that “no one deserves to be forgotten”.”
