"So it's like this?" Troian laid her fingers out over the ivory keys of the piano, pushing down on them hesitantly and smiling sheepishly at Keegan as they clanged off-key. It was good to hear him chuckle though, and she had to be honest - she was kind of maybe definitely messing up on purpose just for the excuse of his hand to lay over hers, and to hear him play the pieces. Keegan was a true virtuoso - give him any instrument and he played it like he was a natural. She leaned back on the piano seat and watched him with a smile on her lips as he bent over the black instrument, his handsome face etched in concentration.
She had been right - he had picked up Clair De Lune, one of her favorite classical pieces, easily. She didn't listen to that genre a lot, but it was one of the few that was able to calm her down. The past week had been stressful for the both of them and lately, Troian was finding herself becoming tired more easily. She knew it was just her nerves, her anxiety getting the better of her, but she hadn't had time to talk to her doctor about upping her dosage. She had a doctor's appointment the following week so she planned on doing it then.
Her hair was laying in soft curls down her back, one of Keegan's shirts settling comfortably on her skin and she had her knees drawn to her chest as she continued to listen to him play. She could honestly do this for hours and it wasn't until her phone vibrated in her jeans pocket that she drew her attention away.
Are you guys coming??
'Yes', Troian quickly texted back and slid her phone back in her pocket. "So would you want to come to the shelter with me? They still need volunteers and I really want to meet that little guy I was telling you about the other night." She wanted Keegan to come with her - he had been so down this week, and she knew if he distracted himself with doing a good deed and getting to hang out with adorable puppies, it might pick up his spirits a little.
She gently knocked her shoulder against his. "C'mon. You'll be happy you came, I promise. We need to get out of the house."
