Trick or Treat | Sathan
It stayed quiet for the rest of the trip, no word left the mouth of one another, made the boy decide to turn the radio on and listen to the music that was taking over and ending the awkward silence. Did he really do something wrong and if so, what was it? Her words were still replaying in his head, the words she had said. He wasn't sure if she was really joking or not, but it did something to him. This time it was different than the time before and instead of telling her back that he liked her and enjoyed her company, he couldn't because of the events that had played over the last few days. The quietness and Summer her cold behaviour made him confused. Once they walked out towards the house, Nate buttoned his jacket against the wind, felt eyes burning on them. Nathan knew that he was quite well known in town, that people knew who he was mostly because of his last name, but this time thatw as not the reason, he could see it in their eyes and gave them a cold look. It was all because of Summer, he could see it in their eyes, knew what they thought, what was going on in their mind and made him mad. Hearing Summer her words, he noticed that she saw it too and tried to swallow the lump in his throat away. "Next year you're going as a nun." He tried to stay nice to her, for a second it went through his mind to place his hand on her back, to tell people she was his and no one elses, even if that wasn't really true. He just couldn't think of seeing Summer with any other guy, made him jealous.
"I'm going to get some drinks," Nate told the girl, trying to make his voice clear above the loud music and smiled gently at the girl, disappeared without waiting for an answer and walked over to the bar, spoke to a few strangers, bumped into dancing people before he finally made it. He knew that a girl like Summer wouldn't go for an alcoholic drink, so he went for a simple coke instead, furrowed when he walked back with the two cups of soda in his hand. Right in front of Summer stood Giselle, a girl he had known for a while now, was being forced to go to a formal dance with her last year, hated her ever since, her spoiled behaviour made him quite annoyed, wanted to leave it right away, but just couldn't. He knew now that he'd never ever go with her to a party again. The boy took a sip of his drink before walking back, a grin on his face when he saw that the brunette bumped into Nolan, one of his best friends. Finally back, Nathan handed the girl the drink, taking another sip of his own. "Thought you wouldn't want any mixture so it's coke." Nate told her, holding the typical American red cup in his hand, music blasting through the speakers. "How do you know Giselle?" He asked her straight away right after, glancing at Nolan for a second before turning towards Summer again.
