SPRING BREAK PT. 1
Summer jumped on her bed. She placed the big red book entitled “Collection of William Shakespeare’s works” right in front of her. A huge smile crept on her features as she opened the book and flipped through the pages. In her head, there was no better way to spend the first day of spring break than catching up on some leisure reading and after she was done with that, she could work double shifts at the cafe she works in or do some advance reading. Knowing herself fully well though, she’s more likely to do all of the above. Most people her age would be too busy getting wasted in the Bahamas or some fancy island God knows where, but Summer wasn’t like most people her age. She was the girl who took learning, grades, and life a little bit too seriously. She didn’t think she was to blame, however. Life had been a little too hard on her but she wasn’t one to complain. Good things and bad things happen to everyone. It just so happens she always got the smaller end of the stick.
Dressed in her Columbia University sweatshirt and white shorts that were probably shorter than what people would normally expect her to wear. She had her hair up in a messy bun and she wore her glasses instead of the usual contact lenses. She didn’t care though. It wasn’t like she was going outside. She was dressed not to impress, but for comfort so she could just bum around inside the comforts of her room, alone with her books. She took a deep breath, allowing the scent of her books fill her nostrils as a satisfied smile appeared on her face. She was about to start reading when she heard her door open. She tried to focus on the Shakespeare’s words or at least look like she was even if her attention was then captured by the person who entered her room.
It was early in April, birds started to show their faces off again and chirp songs in the early hours of the morning-- just a few hours before Nathan's alarm would go off. Most of the times it was a thing that would bother the curly headed guy, something that would irritate him and make him shout, grunt and what not for irrupting his night rest, but today-- today was different.Spring break had just started less than twelve hours ago and even though the boy hadn't spoken too much about it he had plans for the upcoming future. Two tickets were saved in one of the drawers of his wardrobe and boy what was he excited. Nate could still remember last spring break like it was yesterday-- well, actually he couldn't because of all the drinks that he had consumed, but he remembered it vague and knew it was amazing by all the stories that Lo had reminded him of and Nolan too.
However, Nate still hadn't told the big news to Summer yet and time was ticking. He knew that if he would've told her earlier he could immediately put the clothes back in his wardrobe instead of the suitcase where he had put them in now. The brunette was never a big partier and honestly, Nate liked it that way. He wouldn't call himself possesive or anything, but to say that Nathan got a little jealous every now and then would be an understatement. So that's why he stood there, leaning against the door and biting his lip as he watched his favourite girl in the world reading one of her books. He was pretty sure she had read it already, probably knew the lines one by one but kept reading the story like it was new, over and over. A slight smile was captured on Nate's face when Summer noticed his appereance. Stepn by step the boy walked closer, until he could place his arms around her waist and licking his dry lips, searching for the right words or how to put it but the only thing that Nate could think of was the messy yet perfect bun on top of her head and the frame of her glasses-- Nate was certain that Summer didn't know how sexy it made her look. Trying to swallow the lump in his throat away he grinned. "You need to save that book for later." He tried, pursing his lips together as he figured this probably wasn't the best way to put it. "I mean-- eh, you know it's spring break and to make a long story short, we're kinda going to The Bahamas?" His words more sounding like a question this time as he patiently waited for an answer.
