Project_DesertRose Enemy Artificial Intelligence
It’s me again - novice programmer, indie dev, artist. Freedom2Fight.
I’ve written several versions of the enemy AI. The first few ones were too predictable. This time I made sure that the enemy reacted to some of the player’s action. This is in addition to the predetermined actions that the enemy will take such as attacking and evading. Hopefully this will provide a sufficient challenge for players.
On the subject of AI in games... It isn’t really intelligence. Intelligence could be defined as the ability to acquire knowledge. The ability to learn from experience. In games the “AI” only reads and executes instructions. Nothing is learned by the game. There are most of the time a checklist that the game reads and from that checks for the appropriate actions to take from a pile of instructions.
