@timcslipx
Only a few days passed since he brought Mimi back to his apartment and, so far, she hadn’t hinted once that she recalled his secret. While Simon still couldn’t be sure, he hoped it would remain that way. Keeping that part of his life secret from Mimi had worked so far. And while the question continued to tug at the back of his mind, Simon had far more important concerns. Mimi’s shallow breaths worried him, along with how little he’d gotten her to actually eat. While he remained tempted to take her to a hospital, he would only use that as a last resort out of fear that a Dove agent would recognize her face.
Once he’d eaten lunch himself and offered a bowl of soup for Mimi, which she seemed to deny, his only option remained to lie next to her. It seemed to be the one thing he could consistently do to make Mimi feel better; he only hoped that his tall body could keep the nightmares away from hers.
He hadn’t intended on dozing off, but it happened regardless. It was funny to think that, only a few weeks ago they fought in their sleep, with Simon being used to having his bed to himself. Now he didn’t want to imagine sleeping alone. When he blinked his eyes open, he realized Mimi had stirred awake some moments before. She didn’t quite seem fully there with her distant glare and how small she still looked, but at least sitting awake in bed with eyes wide and blinking served as a stark contrast to her previous still and sleepy habits. “Hey,” He began, his voice still soft with sleep. “How are you feeling now? Are you up for eating anything yet?”
Because I'm sure fighting giant Trauma's, demon lords, corrupted angels, and all other manner of apocolyptic creatures would put a serious strain on the muscles of any mortal human how do the Horsemen help their s/o dealing with muscle aches, pains, and physical exhaustion after a long day? Bonus point if it ends in some cuddles.
Death: Long has he been acquainted with the ins and outs of human biology, (I mean come on, he’s Death) and as such, he’s quite apt at working his lean, bony fingers into the right muscles on your legs, back etc. He’s also taken to keeping some bare essentials in his pockets for you. You don;t know where he keeps pulling all these water bottles and cereal bars from, but you aren’t complaining. Death sits with you on a crumbling wall and waits for you to finish eating and drinking whilst he grumbles a little at how easy you are to injure, but he doesn’t make too much of a fuss when you lean heavily into his side. In fact, he made no noise at all as his pale grey arm lowered over your shoulders, squeezing you almost unnoticeably.
War: Just wants to be sure that you aren’t in too much physical pain. He’ll ‘suggest’ that something cold will help relieve your muscle pain, and then he hovers over you whilst you stand, knee deep in an ice cold lake. (There aren’t a lot of ice packs in the apocalypse.) Then, he effectively imprisons you on a rusty old bench or a set of steps and stands there, stone faced, watching you until he deems that you’ve had enough time to rest your muscles. In the evenings following a particularly tiring day, War remarks that you would be far more comfortable leaning up against him, he doesn’t want you waking up to stiff muscles from sleeping on the hard ground. Which finds you sitting between his legs, back pressed against his stomach and head resting comfortable against his chest.
Strife: You barely even sit down before he’s offering to relieve you of that muscle tension. You know he just means to give you a massage, but the fact that he’s actually quite good at them stops you from calling him out. He’s good with his hands, you imagine it must come with the job as the Council’s resident sharpshooter. Strife spends an agonisingly long time massaging the knots out of your shoulders and neck, even taking the time to press his thumbs into the palms of your hands and rub there gently. The best part is that Strife is adamant that you get as much rest as possible, doesn’t matter where. Just that you remain still, although you’re pretty sure he only wants you to lay down somewhere so that he can dive-bomb onto the bed with you and curl himself around you like a huge, armoured blanket.
Fury: She’s a great believer that one must always have a ‘cool down’ period. So, when a long, arduous day comes to a close, Fury doesn’t let you sit down, instead insisting that you accompany her on a brisk walk. All the while she insists that ‘this is for your own good’. But afterwards, oh man. She’s masterfully skilled in the art of massages, her delicate yet firm fingertips dance along your muscles and seem to magically dissipate any lingering soreness. Fury will sit you in front of her, facing away as she gives you a much needed shoulder rub. More often that not, this is a foolproof way of getting you to sit still, a lot of the time resulting in you falling asleep against the horseman. She rolls her eyes but buries her nose into your hair affectionately.
So... 42 months of this shit (ーー;)
