🏃‍♀️The responses I’m getting to #PaceMyself are filling my heart. Today ☝️ came in which I’ve paraphrased with permission...”I’ve been thinking about how the expectations placed on me have affected me. I was told to be a lot of things growing up. I wasn’t encouraged to pursue a career as much as I was pushed to marry and procreate. When I turned 30 and wasn’t fulfilling that role, I felt so inadequate. I’m realizing that when I lack confidence or feel like I have to prove myself that this stems from the way I was brought up. However, I have so many amazing strong women in my life who have given me so much love, support, encouragement and inspiration over the years, so thank you for reminding us to celebrate that! 🏃‍♀️⭐️ #PaceMyself has launched (link in bio) Here's the straight talk: My favorite day in the past few weeks was when our headlines and feeds were filled with Oprah's name and not the name of someone who did something ranging from insensitive to predatory. We are all feeling weary of this. In my work, I've had my share of experiences where gender and sexuality played a bigger role than I wished. So, this fall I set out to fill my days with something positive. I asked the many talented and hardworking female, female identifying and femme musicians I know to be a part of something in celebration of us. It's finally here. This work has filled my last few months with joy.
