Don’t cry, ok? The Pack Rat (Dusky Footed Wood-Rat) constructs Middens; large complex nests constructed from diverse local materials and cemented together. Extended, multi-generational families will live inside of these Middens, which often have multiple discrete rooms, such as a nursery, nest, and pantry. They have well-developed paws, and are capable of carrying things. They have a strong affinity for shiny objects, and will “trade” what they’re carrying if offered a coin or a key. They will place Bay Laurel leaves around the perimeter of their homes to deter fleas. Did I mention they have been found living in extended multi-generational family units.

Not the usual sort of furry we get here, but who am I to reject a man in a rat costume! The submitter admitted fondness for the guy and I figure hey, maybe others enjoyed him too!
This one-off character featured in the episode Make 'Em Laugh. The Joker, having been cast out from a comedy competition, gets his revenge by brainwashing the comedians into zany but troublesome villains. Pack Rat in particular became a scurrying thief focused on boxes, packages, and any other rubbish he could get his hands on, even holding up a store solely so he could steal trash from them. It only took a brief confrontation from Batman to stop him, and it can be assumed that once the Joker's plot was foiled, Pack Rat returned to a normal life. But his brief reign of silly terror will live on in our hearts!
