Name a way your character has been treated growing up that would not have occurred in the real world.
Kira’s mother always told her not to rely on her claws. You can be prevented from shifting, she’d said, but it’s much harder to prevent someone from using something besides the obvious choice as a weapon. Not everyone was clever enough to stop a person from using his or her own ingenuity. Though Kira had never thought of herself as someone who could hurt another werewolf, she’d learned about as many different weapons as she could, and started to work on mastery of them at a young age.
Attack wasn’t what had been on her mind but learning to defend. Herself and anyone who couldn’t defend themselves. Also, it seemed to be the one state of being she had where she wasn’t awkwardly metaphorically (and literally) tripping over her own feet.
