I’m actually gonna add some plot in my pactio idea.

So once upon a time, young Prince Atem had the tendency to get kidnapped much like a certain little brother of a CEO in the future. And Mahad was usually the one who found him and brought him back home (perhaps from his innate talent of using the Ring’s searching abilities or a sixth sense he developed over time). 

At first it was bearable, but then Mahad became more and more injured in every kidnapping attempt. Atem didn’t like that. He wanted to become strong so that his friend didn’t need to protect him anymore. Or so that he could do the protecting this time.

While he was wracking his brain on how to do that, he stumbled upon several of his father’s visitors - magicians from Greece sparring outside. He observed them for a moment. One magician fighting another, and then another magician would pop out from nowhere and defend a magician. And maybe another one would summon a weapon and team up with another magician. And it went like that, complicated strategies that relied on magicians teleporting and becoming offense or defense, always supporting each other.

And Atem had an idea.

After the spar, he went to the group of magicians and asked how they fought like that. The magicians thought the little prince wanted to gain a cool magic weapon like theirs, and were about to explain that he couldn’t, not if he was willing to have the title of a servant. They were surprised when he asked how they could protect each other so instinctively, and how they could teleport and could he learn that please. When one magician asked why he wanted to learn, he answered.

“I want to protect a friend, I’m tired of seeing him hurt because of me.”

The magicians tried to deter the prince from learning their ritual (because he was a pampered prince, what havoc could he wreak with an item?). When they talked about the kiss needed, Atem just shrugged, not understanding what was so gross about that. When another explained the master-servant bond that their ritual had, with him as the servant instead of the master, Atem had been more delighted than disgusted. Thinking that this could give a more equal footing with his friend.

In the end, the magicians were endeared by the smol sincere prince so they taught him how to do a pactio.

Mahad was against the idea, because it was unbecoming of a prince to be a servant of any kind. And also kissing. But Atem managed to convince him somehow.

Random pactio adventures doodle. So I’m thinking that Mahad and Atem’s pactio became void when Mahad died, but they can remake it again by making a pactio as Dark Magician and Yami. And what if DM is so against it due to guilt and feeling like woah taking advantage of amnesiac friend, and Yami is just all oh shut up and kiss me- know what, I’ll do it.

(DMG sneaks in the pactio circles while DM is busy giving reason why they can’t pactio)

Or it could just be Yami sneak kissing DM with fab purple sparkles, whichever you like.

Okay but a pactio between Mahad and Atem would be cute if Atem was the minister and Mahad was the magister because it'd be like saying "let me be the one to serve you this time"
