Part Three: Manchester Orchestra
Manchester Orchestra took so long to come out. I almost fainted in between sets because I was so hot and dehydrated. But I feel like a big part of that was just a trick of the mind, because as soon as they came out, I was just beaming. They played everything off of Mean Everything To Nothing except for I Can Feel A Hot One and Tony The Tiger! It was so beautiful. Their encore was Mean Everything to Nothing and The River, just like I knew it'd be. <3 My entire life was shining in that moment. I cried. They also played a lot off of Simple Math, though I didn't know that at the time because I'd been too lazy or busy or whatever lame excuse to download it before the concert. Afterward, though, was a completely different story, as it always is. I've been listening to it almost twice a day since. It's so, so good. Hearing it live before actually listening to it was actually so good for me, just as most concerts go. All of the music was that way. It was such a lovely night.
Part Two: White Denim
White Denim's set was far beyond anything I had previously expected. I knew they'd be great no matter what they'd play, but after only listening to Last Days Of Summer day after day with only the very limited and fairly untrue knowledge that their other music was different and more grunge/garage rock-ish, my prediction wasn't nearly this awesome. Their set was basically a constant jam. I wouldn't doubt it if they didn't actually play any songs from their albums, but just improvised the entire time as if they were finding inspiration for new formulated songs. It might've been the coolest set I've ever heard from any band. I was so impressed. After the show, I got their record D, and the recorded music doesn't disappoint at all. Me and Craig talked to them for a little while at the Merch table and they were so chill about everything. I should've expected it. Their personalities really reflected in their overall stage presence: not only how they flowed with eachother no matter what time-signature change took place, but how happy and into it they all were doing it.
Part One: The Dear Hunter
Last week, Me, Craig, Riley, and Megan went together to see Manchester Orchestra play with The Dear Hunter and White Denim, and holy shit; it was incredible. The Dear Hunter played This Body and at the end it turned into She's So Heavy. It was so intense. Craig gave me a huge smile, so I figured he not only knew that's what was going on, but it reminded him of when he played I Want You (She's So Heavy) for me at school. He didn't catch it though, and neither did anyone else, so maybe they didn't play it on purpose, but I swear it was the exact same way. Anyway, they also played Echo, which was just wonderful. It was nothing I hadn't heard before, seeing as I'd seen them twice before that, but it was still as amazing, nonetheless.
2 days!!! I am SOOOO excited for this concert :D
