i keep almost falling for people, but then i realize that it is so unlikely that they will ever like me back and i try to back out and am sad and alone? am i just second guessing myself? should i just go for it or, am i doing the right thing?

it's all very subjective, because sometimes you need the time to grow & to figure out where you are in your life. so you could be doing the right thing subconsciously! but i think you need to do some introspective thinking & figure out where you think you'd be happiest. 

if you feel like it's the right time to try and make some deeper connections, then i think you should go for it! see how it turns out bc in the end there are two outcomes:

you could have something amazing that you would never have discovered if you had kept silent

you keep living as you are [maybe with a little more embarrassment but that never hurt anyone]!! that's literally it that's the worst that could happen

so yeah sorry this is so long but i've been thinking about this a lot uwu i hope i was a help & you're wonderful anyone would be lucky to have you
