So this guy is performing in Airlie Beach tonight! Illy, who is a rapper from Frankston. This song is HUGE over here right now and always on the radio, but since it's the only one we know and tickets are $35 we probably won't be watching him lol. He's performing in Magnums and our friends Jed and Caitlyn are in town so we're hoping to go out for a drink with them before they leave tomorrow even if we don't actually pay to go and see him.
We had a great weekend with Jed, Caitlyn, Sarah, Brock, Jed's sister Sam and Brock's mum last weekend who were all in town. We met them at Airlie Beach Lagoon on Saturday and then watched them go paddle boarding which was funny! Then we had an afternoon in Magnums with them, went home for some food, and then drove to the place they were renting in Jubilee Pocket (5 mins drive away) and sat outside having a drink, listening to music and playing card games. Everyone gave up and went to bed at about 11 because they had to be up and ready by 7.30 the next morning for a boat trip to the great barrier reef, but me, Ryan and Jed soldiered on until just after midnight listening to some 90s classics (think S Club 7, Jed's music not mine surprisingly!). Then we slept in our van which we'd made up especially so that we wouldn't have to drive home. This one night reminded us how much we love having a real bed! Being on the road is fun but by god my neck and hip were hurting the next morning haha.
Since then we haven't seen much of the guys because Ryan's been in work and they've been making the most of the Whitsundays and when they leave tomorrow we don't know if or when we'll ever see them again (sob!) so we're hoping to have a fun night with them tonight!
