Brief: Talking Heads - Collaborate
Presentation notes from Clay Collective and Paddy Molloy. The two different speakers had slightly different perspectives on how collaboration can be defined.
Clay Collective’s ethos is all about non hierarchy in the studio, where all decisions are made together, and new ideas are constantly shared between each other even though they have their own developing practices.
Paddy Molloy collaborated a lot with the theatre, and embarked on ambitious projects that reached beyond his own technical skills. Collaboration is therefore key in this because he had to reach out to technicians for specific equipment such as electronics and construction. The lesson taken away from this is to not be afraid to reach out to other disciplines in order to achieve the greatest possible outcome out of a project.
