last time I was rambling to my boyfriend while we were watching the clone wars about how I loved how layered he was and they showed his struggle with the light side and dark side and he was just like "I don't think the children's show planned that" and I was like "Jason please stop ruining my pain"

But I think they did??? Like once I read a comment about how the clone wars were the closest we got to see in canon that Anakin was mentally ill, especially during the lost missions episodes where he almost kills Padmé’s friend Rush Clovis because he was getting too close to Padmé.

I mean, I think it was completely intentional to show Anakin’s grey morals and how they made him human before they made him a cruel machine. 

Another of my favorite scenes is when they’re dealing with the Zygerrians and he’s all ‘Zygerrian scum! I will handle that slaver!’ because like so many people choose to casually forget Anakin’s life before he was a Jedi when they’re criticizing him?? Anakin never got to have control over his own life and choices and was mistrusted to his face and kept in the dark about so many things by the Jedi???? and then when they expelled his padawan based on so little evidence, he’s out there hunting everyone to gather proof of Ahsoka’s innocence in a not-so-jedi-way.

I will never get over the fact that Clone Wars was cancelled before we got to see Anakin deal with Ahsoka’s departure. One of those ‘lost missions’ scenes that never made it was about Anakin being angry at Ahsoka for leaving and then he tells Obi-Wan like ‘how would you feel if it was me?’ or something and Obi-Wan is like ‘lucky we never have to worry about that’ and I!!!!!! JUST!!!!!

Anakin was so imperfect and so human but he still deserved to have a good life with his mom, wife and twins I hate everything😭

So, in short, I got carried away lol, I TOTALLY agree with you that the clone wars did intend to show us Anakin’s layers and moral struggles, absolutely! Jason, don’t ruin her pain!
