This documentary on Netflix looks into the stigma around menstruation in India. Many women don't have the freedom that we do in the uk, and can only use whats available which tends to be cloth. The men in the area also have no idea what a period is, this is down to education and culture. This documentary shows the journey ways to improve this by education and using a low cost sanitary machine. The interviews are honest and true and show the divide, this is from education and religion with man people believing that your preyers won't be heard if you are on your period and periods being dirty. Many people in the documentary say its the biggest taboo in India and it needs to change.
This only came out the other day but Is still key research for this unit, showing the periods are a huge issue for the whole world and it needs to change in all cultures.
