Friends, I'm getting so much enjoyment out of reading The Magick of Food by Gwion Raven. I've been reading a chapter a day and so far my takeaways include:
Being reminded that my life is full of great people that I can share food with
That food is healing and that I can, in fact, craft wellness spells out of immunity shots and chicken soup
That offering post-surgery meals to friends is, in itself, an act of magic
Being reminded I should make mini loaves of quick bread to give out at Imbolc
The best advice on staging potlucks ever
Inspiring me to keep crystals in my pots/pans when they're being stored (this isn't in the book but it makes intuitive sense to me)
There's a lot in this book I'm not taking away / outright don't agree with (I definitely just erased a full paragraph of hot takes about cooking with recipes), but overall, ugh it's the best magical book I've read in so long.
