Before you help the stranger you decide to get a closer look at the vines around the wheels of the cart.

Each vine is thicker than your arm, the outer layer is bright yellow and waxing in texture. Under the surface of the skin you can see red veins pulsing.

Thick black and red sap is oozing out of the spots where the stranger has used their knife. It smells like iron and vaguely like mint.

Gestalt takes a few vines in their metal hand, and quickly shake it off. You can see that the vines were already trying to dig into Gestalt’s gauntlet. 

You think back to what Tether told you last night, “Decades of Growth Magic has blurred the lines between flora and fauna.”

The Yellow Hunger… the name doesn’t inspire confidence.

You look at the small pile of severed vines under the back wheel, and notice they are still squirming around like worms. How long does it take for them to die when they are cut off?

Hello I saw that you had an answer for #20 (page 586) but I tried this the way you did but used the numbers 25 for men and 75 for women because that seemed easy. How come I did not get the right answer?

You didn’t read carefully enough. There are 75 MORE women than men, so if there are 25 men, there are 100 women.

Can you explain how to do q. 20? (Test 4, Section 3) I didn't quite understand the method given on the linked answer (from the Blue Book Blog on TestTakers)

Plug in. Say there are 15 men at the college. Then there are 15 + 75 = 90 women. Total people enrolled: 105. Percent that are men: 15/105 ≈ 0.143, or 14.3%

This is the important part here. The answer choices all have a % sign after them. You want to get 14.3%, which is the same as 0.143, when you plug in 15 for n. You don’t want 0.143%, because 0.143% = 0.00143!

The 100 in answer choice (E) is there because the % sign basically means “divided by 100.” So the percent sign and the 100 cancel each other out.

Like many difficult circle questions, this is really a ratio question.

First thing you want to do is find the circumference, since you already know a part of it, and that'll tell you the radius.

30/360 = 6π/C1/12 = 6π/C72π = C

If the circumference is 72π, then the radius is 36. So the area of the whole circle would be  π(36)^2 = 1296π.

To find the area of the sector, use another ratio:

30/360 = x/1296π108π = x
