Question on your question: Does Children of Men count as Apocalypseish in your book and have you seen it?

I remember reading the premise and thinking it was probably something I wouldn’t enjoy -- I don’t know if it would be fully classed as apocalypse or post-apocalypse in a genre sense, but it ticks the boxes that make it offputting to me: collapse of civilization, “inevitable” human brutality that comes with it, one lone single shot at a chance to rebuild etc etc so the outcome is pretty much the same -- don’t need or want to see that, so I’ll let others enjoy it. It’s not that I think it doesn’t have value, just that it’s not my bag.

I almost didn’t listen because I don’t have any interest in basketball and I wasn’t sure I really cared what Charles Barkley had to say, but he got on there and just spent the entire time ROASTING PEOPLE, it was great. And I agreed with a lot of what he said about “practice and drive are great but unfortunately there are also natural advantages you need to be born with in order to be an elite basketball player” which not a lot of people will admit.

Nah, it’s mostly just the Epic store being absolute shit. Lack of basic features, etc.

It’s also terribly unsecure. Like, these fartnockers were like “yeah we have a massive security breach, let’s not follow up on this in any way at all besides closing our end of the breach, like implementing a verification flag if any American accounts suddenly log in from Poland and start buying all the Vbucks.” They punted it entirely down to the customers to resecure their shit.

I can’t emphasize enough that Epic doesn’t deserve to run an online storefront until they implement some very basic features that they’re kicking down the line for no apparent reason. Like, adding a shopping cart is a long-term goal. Instead of trying to compete with Valve, EA, Ubisoft et al by presenting a better app for the customer, they’re just paying off companies for exclusivity, so if you want the latest Metro, Borderlands, or Obsidian game at release, you have to use their shitty, spaghetti coded, unsecure store.

Their entire business model is “publishers are the customer, the customers are the product.”

Epic can suck my entire cock right off its foundations and choke on it.

Like, I’ve done this shit for years, and literally nobody said “welcome in,” until a new guy we got at the start of the month, and he always says it.

In Brit WWI usage, you'd be seeing "The *-shire Yeomanry" volunteers raised from an area, sent for REASON/active war. Maybe for fluff they're some frontline vets who got discouraged by tons of combat and went Nurgie, changing their name from the town to "Nurgleshire" or w/e Also, I can't over-recommend simple Guard color schemes. Camo patterns look cool, but when you have to paint it on a few dozen or hundred guardsmen? Yeah. Maybe for Snipers or Vets. Luck Dude!

@pagecommando I don’t want to use the *shire thing since it keeps the scope too small for what I have in mind, but the rest is pretty much what I had in mind to being with.

Also, painting camouflage isn’t too bad if you know what scheme you’re using.
