Nyssa knew, objectively, that holding a grudge against a dead man (though she had her doubts about that) was not productive. It took up energy and attention better spent elsewhere. Still, the memory of Malcolm Merlyn and all that he had done was almost always at the back of her mind. It was easy for her to separate Thea from him, knowing she was just another one of his victims, but finding out that the man’s son was alive and well...

She had never known Thomas Merlyn, only vaguely aware that he was an unfortunate casualty in Malcolm’s insane ploy against the Glades. She didn’t know if he was anything like his father. But what she did know was that he was back in Thea’s life, and that alone was enough for her to be wary. “Doctor Merlyn, I presume?” She asked, her jaw clenching just a little. He looked so much like his father when Nyssa had first met him as a child.
