not the greatest images because i had to screenshot these from a video, but i found this kind of interesting. L/Lysandre only stands up straight twice in the entire game: the first when he commands the player character to "do what must be done," and the second when he battles the player. the rest of the time, his posture is slouched.

So I've been thinking about this line a lot lately.

When I first saw it in my playthrough of ZA, I kind of laughed it off. Like dude, you've only been immortal for five years, you haven't seen nothing yet.

But, the more I thought about it, the more sense it made.

Think about it: after the events of X/Y, Lysandre was buried under tons of rubble. In the dark. Hurt and alone, just waiting to die… and not being able to. And who knows how long he was down there like that before Zygarde dug him out.

That had to have messed him up a bit ;;

BUT. Something else I've noticed in my digging for reference images, the differences in body language when you defeat Lysandre/L.

In X/Y, he turns away from the player character and looks down in what I assume is either disappointment or disgust.

Whereas when you defeat him in ZA, he looks right at the player character and actually smiles. Like a genuine, warm smile; not the slasher smile he's often depicted with in other media.
