Ah, summer, when I can make a pie and proudly say that the crust is sweat-free, because I moved away from the counter every time a bead dripped off my face (so, like, every ten seconds or so).

(I don’t know why I decided to make the pie now; I’m quite tired, and full. But now that the crust is in the oven, I’m committed to seeing the whole thing through! In, like, half an hour or something.)

Raising money for Muhammad Sudais burns treatment Glasgow

This is an URGENT ongoing appeal for a very special little boy from Afghanistan. 3 months old Mohammad Sudais's suffered third degree burns after a gas explosion in his parents home. Little Mohammad 's mother, father and 13 months old brother, Abdul Haseeb, all died in the explosion. The doctors in Pakistan have declared that they can do no more for the little boy, and have recommended the best place that he can be treated properly is in the world renowned Burns Unit, Royal Infirmary.

You may remember .in the 1970s, the Boy David from Peru whose face was eaten away and the people across the UK raised money for him to be brought to Glasgow's Burns Unit at the former Canniesburn Hospital to be treated by the eminent plastic surgeon, Dr Ian Jackson. In 2014, the little boy Mohammad needs our help to be brought over to Glasgow for medical treatment.

We are asking  the Health Secretary, Alex Neil MSP to help get urgent burns treatment for this little boy. The Health Secretary has been very sympathetic and we are hopeful of a positive responses. His eyesight is at risk because of contriction around the eyes, and the skin elasticity is affected each day he is not treated. This is an urgent appeal to pay for Mohammad to be brought over and every penny will go to pay for the travel costs from the hospital in Pakistan to Glasgow, including an ambulance to take him to the airport.

  We want to raise £2000 by Monday 10th February so please do all you can to help us reach the target. The longer this is left, the longer Mohammed is in pain and his prospects of recovery grow less. So please, help us make a bright future for little Mohammad. His only relative in Glasgow is Mohammad Asif, General Secretary of the Scottish Afghan Society. Asif is settled in Glasgow with his wife and family and desperate to bring his orphaned nephew for treatment and will take care of Mohammad at his own home and at his own expense. We just need your help to bring him over. So please help now.

All monies donated will be used to help bring Mohammad over as quickly as possible to Glasgow for Burns treatment.
