Chapter 2 uploaded. 

Now they're together, life should be smooth sailing. But Levi's incessant need to draw a portrait of Hange stirs up insecurities about her scars.

Sadly, I have not worked on BMO these past few weeks, but I have been chipping away at Paint and Progress chapter 2. So if you're interested, here's a WIP from Paint and Prog chap 2 of a fluffy moment laced with a touch of angst...

They go to bed. Even though the heating has been on the whole evening, it’s crisp and cool under the covers. Levi’s back is to her. For a split second, she thinks he’s the source of the frost in the bed. But no, their conversation had gone so well, he couldn’t possibly be annoyed with her.

She slides over and wraps her arms around him, pushing her hands underneath his top. His smooth skin is warm but her hands are cold so he flinches slightly at the contact but doesn’t move.  

There’s a distant hum of traffic and the occasional rumble of the tube but the night is quiet. His breathing is even though he’s not asleep yet. Every part of Hange is content. So content, her limbs feels heavy with sheer joy.

As blissful sleep overtakes her, she catches herself smiling into his hair. They’ve made progress. Finally. He’s actually coming around to the idea that she wants to fix her scars.

“Hange?” He breaks the cosy silence.

“Hmm?” She’s too tired to talk.

“There’s an exhibition I’m thinking about submitting to.” His hold on her wrists seems to tighten, keeping her from pulling them away. “I want to paint your portrait.”

Her stomach drops. The bed is cold again.

Fall in love with paint and progress. Just had the time to read it. Levi named his exhibition using a name that relates to his and Hange's childhood characters means that he never forget Hange even though they kinda grew apart since they follow their own journey. It's so beautiful to think about it. His love for Hange is never dim even though they are not together at that time and live far from each other. I think the way you portrayed Levi is slightly different from the og Levi. He's a little calmer (?) compare to his og character. But of course it suits him, since.. well... they didn't live in titan world anymore and I love it. Even though he's a little different but it suits him and still him. Not entirely a new person since he's also cranky in this au 😂 one more part that I love is when Erwin looked in a distance and started to give a speech, that's so so so Erwin 😂 there are a lot more actually but I don't want to burden you to read a long a$$ paragraph from me 💀 so in short, yeah everything is perfect in that story <3 damn it's like writing an essay in a school when using 'in short' LMAO

Firstly, getting comments and essay-long feedback isn't burdening me. I love hearing what people think, and what exactly they enjoyed!! Sometimes this whole fanfic malarky can be taking a shot in the dark where you're writing what you like and you don't know how a fic will be received, so if you like something in a fic, no matter how big or small, then let the author know!!! Thanks for taking the time to send this, I really appreciate it! 🥰

I love AUs and thinking about how to make everyone feel like their canon selves, when they aren't in the titan world. Sometimes you have to take liberties but as long as you justify it in the story, it's all good. Characterisation is the most important thing for me, and it's always a puzzle, so I'm happy you think it worked this time. I actually don't hc Levi as an artistic genius, but the gift recipient does, so it was a challenge to write this. I was paranoid the whole thing was ooc 😅. I also approached this fic differently as I had a detailed structure and outline that I didn't drift from. Also wrote in present tense which is something I struggle with. BASICALLY idk why I gave my such a big challenge, but I did 🤣

And yes, they were BFFLs growing up so they always had each other in the back of their minds. 🥰
