Paint Colors For Your Mood
It has been suggested that colors have a significant affect on our mood. The color themes chosen for each room often represent the mood and ambiance. If you are planning on a remodel you may want to also rethink paint colors for your home. Below are descriptions of what paint colors enhance certain moods and suggestions of where they should be used:
Red: Stimulating, Warm, Exciting, Attention-Grabbing. It is a perfect color for a formal dining room as it stimulates appetite and energy. It also would work as a color theme for a living room as it is warming and brings people together. It is the color of love so what better choice to paint the room where your family dinners take place and socializing with your close friends!
Yellow: The happiest of colors that makes you smile and embodies sunshine! It is a great uplifting color that can be beneficial in the kitchen or bathroom! Yellow can also be a good color to give the illusion of space. As it is the color of sunshine and "morning" it is not a good choice for a bedroom where you want to entice sleep!
Blue: The color of water and sky that reflects relaxation and calm. It is recommended for bathrooms and also bedrooms due to the serenity it brings. However, in a big room it can almost make the room seem "chilly". Keep the blues light for relaxation, warmer blue such as periwinkle and turquoise for a more warmer, welcoming affect but try and steer clear of having dark blue as main color theme as it can bring about feelings of sadness. Blue is also a productive color so it can also be a good choice for a home office.
Orange: An energizing color scheme like orange is perfect for an exercise room to keep you motivated and awake!
Green: Green is not the most popular color scheme for main rooms but it is actually a great refreshing and restful color.
