Collaged Painted Papers in Orange
This month we’re exploring ORANGE in the year full of color journey.
Like a lot of these single color series, I started out with a select of painted papers.
Some magazine and book pages, and a bit of an old recycled painting on heavy cartridge paper.
The paint I used is a mixture of craft, acrylic, gouache and watercolor.

cross pollinating ideas - Taking up where I left off yesterpost, mixing up the mixed media ideas in this next step of red-orange monochrome.
Moving on from the first layers I showed you yesterpost, having set these pieces aside to dry I came back to find this lovely heap of semi-raw ingredients on my desk to play with today.
To unify the layers I began with, I’m using the same brush pens and acrylic paints + a little metallic orange and watercolor in deep orange and burnt sienna.

These hand painted and doodled papers are what I use to put into my artwork! Each painted paper pack is different and includes a variety of hand painted papers using deli paper, fashion labels and tags, watercolor paper, card stock (both color and white), book papers, maps, drawing paper, paperboard, cardboard…even ribbon! Each unique hand painted paper might be stenciled, Gelli printed, painted, sketched, doodled, dotted, stamped or flecked. There are so many papers in my collection that my head spins when I see just how many papers I’ve made!!! And now I’m sharing them with you for your art.
I’ve used various types of media such as artist acrylics, craft paints, watercolor, acrylic paint, acrylic paint markers, regular markers, pencil and rubber stamp ink.
