we've been watching Game of Thrones the same this season, haha; I think I watched the first 4 but after that I just waited for the gifs to tell me what happened. I've already finished all the books so I didn't have any burning urge to watch it.

I know, same - I think it was episode 4 too. I just watched, thought ‘meh’ and that was that. When the next episode came out, I realised I just couldn’t be bothered. It kinda sucks, that a show I used to be so excited for has become a hassle, you know? It feels like a chore. So I just didn’t watch. I did have a look at a couple a scenes when something in the gifs caught my eye, but that’s it.

If the books didn’t exist and GOT was a standalone show, I would have stopped watching at this point anyway, mainly due to the inconsistencies, lazy to bad writing, mix of sex and violence, one-dimentional characters, even rather well-written characters that I just can't seem to care about the way I do about their book counterparts, and so on and so forth.There are other things, but that’s the main stuff, and this answer is already super long. The things I still love about the show? The music, some of the costumes, the setting, some of the sinematography, the acting… All of which can be appreciated in gif-form or youtube.One more thing - for me, the books are much more about the younger generation. Arya, Sansa, Bran, Jon, Rickon, Shireen, Edric, Gendry, Myrcella, Tommen, Daenerys, Arianne, Brienne, Asha, Theon, Jeyne, etc. Of course, the adults are just as important; Cersei, Jaime, Tyrion, Stannis, Varys, Littlefinger, Tywin, Catelyn, Ned, Davos, etc etc. However, ultimately, their actions affect the younger generation, and the younger generation is the one who’s going to have to rebuild when this is all over, if there’s anything left to rebuild with.The show focuses a lot more on the adults, and the ‘kids’ are left out a lot of the time (which isn’t really something I can fault the show for; I think one of the reasons for this is a set of laws that protect child actors, and rightly so). But this causes the story to lose a lot of heart, imo.Anyway, I’m sorry for going on a rant… You didn’t ask for this, haha;but I kind of needed to get that out of my system.I don’t know if I’ll catch up on the show or not. I’ll still be blogging about it, because of pretty gifs and posts, and I love ASOIAF. But as far as GOT is concerned, maybe I’ll watch it again when the series is over, depending on the ending they go with.
