Painted isn't the best person but I'm extremely uncomfortable with the princessfur witness blog openly accusing them of being transphobic for criticizing the community and how openly misogynistic it is and in the same breath defending a pedophile. Their bias is obvious and they're being extremely lesbophobic.
oh my GOD, how DARE a lesbian not cater to MEN’S FEELINGS??? DURING PRIDE MONTH??? 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Staying on anon for this so feel free to ignore this ask if you'd like because I have 0 proof to back this up. Most of this happened over a voice call so, take this with a grain of salt.
I was in the private server the fetish belly dance conversation happened, I'm no longer in that server so I cannot access any screenshots. That took place in 2022, and there was a voice call that happened before the conversation where Miorjah attempted to explain the drama they had gotten themselves into that time. Beau made a very long call out document focusing on Miorjah's racism and orientalism, it was mostly a decently made callout with the exception of Beau themselves referring to the cultural practice of belly dancing as a fetish harem girls would do to attract men and was a form of sex work. Beau made this claim on their now deleted twitter as well. So that is where the "why are they mad for fetishizing a fetish" comment stems from, as that was a common assumption in the community back then. Everything in the community was made with an understanding that it was all fetish stuff.
Miorjah in that call went on to rant about how belly dancing is a fetish and claimed they "researched it." They also said that Beau was being a hypocrite, and got upset asking why other people were "allowed" to engage in that fetish and "mena aesthetics" but they weren't. For a while in the princessfur community, belly dancing outfits were popular because, surprise, a group of primarily white people thought it was a fetish and was fine for them to engage with. It wasn't only Miorjah who had outfits like that, Dolly, Parfait and others at the time had similar stuff. Even Beau themselves commissioned Miorjah for a belly dancer outfit back in the day, and was included in Beau's own call out.
It was kind of a "community standard" to give further context or insight into the conversation because one screenshot with like 5 messages doesn't really give much information or context. The community thankfully had a realization that, obviously that kind of orientalism is racist as fuck and no one but Miorjah engages with it anymore. Unsurprisingly, a lot of the racism issues the community has is primarily the fault of Miorjah by turning everything into a fetish for them to engage in.
So your excuse for not knowing it was racist was because it was fetishized? Bffr… ignorance isn’t an excuse to be racist, ever.
