Victim-Blaming
For those of you who have conveniently renamed free speech by those who have harmed them as “call out culture”, let us educate you on what you are really doing:
You are victim-blaming. There is no such thing as call out culture but in your irresponsible, unrepentant and unapologetic minds. You find it acceptable to lie, hide, and pretend you are not abusers and criminals, but you are indeed. People are allowed to speak out and speak up about what they see and how they have been treated. It’s called free speech. Stifling someone’s ability to share their experiences and insights is wrong - that’s what abusers do.
If you are not guilty of the crimes and actions you are accused of, it is easy enough to prove. For example, showmaxter/Marie has: 1. lied and said we stalked her blog when she in fact mentioned us in her post then deleted said mentions, and 2. lied and said we went after Lokin for posting a minors IP address when in fact that happened before we knew Lokin, and what we posted was Lokin stole code for themes. Lokin lied as well about us, and said we told people to kill themselves, when in fact, it was Lindsay who had told us to kill ourselves.
We easily showed Marie and Lokin lied each time with links to prior posts and tags, with dates and times. We don’t have to resort to pretending there is a thing called “call out culture”. The truth is there for all to see, and we want them to see for themselves. We don’t delete blogs and posts, like Lindsay, Davina, Etara, Lokin and Marie have done and continue to do.
Victim-blaming is real. Call out culture is some made up term by the actual cyberbullies who dislike it when their actions and crimes are revealed and spoken out against. If you have a problem with the reputation your actions have given you, then perhaps you should find a better way to deal with your problems and others. It’s not our fault we got tired of being stolen from, lied to and ignored, and seeing the same thing being done to others. It’s your fault for stealing, lying and ignoring those that you harmed.
Learn to take some responsibility for your actions. Learn to live with what you say and do establishing a reputation for yourself. If it is a negative reputation, it is your own fault. Deleting things is no longer an option. Hiding is no longer an option. You are citizens of tumblr. Your actions and words carry as much weight online as they do in real life.
Expect accountability to be imposed on you. Expect rules, common courtesy and laws to apply to you. Expect records, reputations and truth to be as common here as they are in your daily lives. This isn’t a safe place for anyone. People like you have made sure of that, and we’re not going to take it anymore. Just like in real life, you can face the consequences of your actions.
Thieves, liars and abusers don’t like being “called out” because then others can learn the truth about them. They may not be abusing you today, but it never takes them long to find their next victim. Be aware of the reputations of those you meet on tumblr.
