I use Paint Shop Pro, but I'm sure this is translatable for Photoshop users. This tutorial is just for this purple coloring that I've been using. I usually don't make these types of things and I don't know how to give you the PSD. This is my first tutorial EVER. So I hope you can understand it. The coloring is pretty simple. So I'm going to walk you through it step by step. :)
I'm going to use Bom's picture for this.
The first step is to duplicate the photo. Then change the opacity/blend of the duplicated layer to SCREEN. I reduced it to 78%, but reduce it more if the photo is way too bright to see all the features of the photo. Once you've done that, merge the photo down with the original.
So it will look like this. This is your new base layer:
Then duplicate the new base layer and change the opacity of the duplicated layer to Soft Light 100%. Do not merge. Leave it as it is. Then create a new layer and set it to Soft Light 100% above the merged photo & paste this gradient to it.
Duplicate this gradient layer two more times and the result will look like this.
Then create a color balance layer over all of the layers. Using this numbers. You can adjust them to fit your photo.
Midtones: Cyan: 44, Magenta: 0, Yellow: 70
Shadows: Cyan: -77, Magenta: 0, Yellow: 65
Highlights: Cyan: 0, Magenta: 0, Yellow: 21
Layers look like this if you're confused
This tutorial is really rough. I mean really rought so you may be confused. But I hope you kind of understood it . If you have any questions, I will be willing to answer them all for you. =)
