This is a place that bets everything on the beauty of its waters. Between the amazing island hopping and the convenience of using English and credit cards, it was an easy trip to make. Just keep in mind that prices are steep, getting around is tough, and you really need tours to see the best spots. It is definitely a destination for sea lovers rather than foodies or city explorers.

You can still see the historical links to Japan, but they feel more like echoes of history than part of the modern lifestyle.
