DirkJohn Week Day 1

Meet Cute

“Hey bro, I want you to meet my buddy, John!”

Dirk looked up to see Dave leading one of his friends over. Dirk was ridiculously grateful for his shades, and the way they hid his eyes widening.

John was...beautiful. He was muscular, but soft. He hated to run comparisons, but it was like someone took the best of Jake and Jane and made Dirk's personal Achilles heel in human form.

(Then again, Jade also was the best of those two combined, Jane's shortness combined with Jake's untamable attitude. He just wasn't into girls like that)

“Hey,” Dirk nodded, wishing that Dave or John would start a conversation.

“Hi! So Dave tells me you're into robots? That's so cool!”

Wish granted.

“Yeah, it's a hobby of mine. I even made a pair of robots to rap with when I get bored.”

John laughed and sat next to Dirk with a smile, and Dirk chuckled to himself. John looked around and crossed his arms.

“What did I say that's so funny?” John looked a little self conscious, and Dirk waved his hands.

“No no! It's just...you laugh just like Jane. It's cute. I love her laugh.” Dirk smiled and pointed to where the Crocker in question was laughing with Roxy and Calliope.

“Oh, is she your...girlf-”

“No! God no! I mean I love her, but not like that!” Dirk shook his head quickly. “I am too gay for that. It's more like...the diamond thing trolls have. I don't know if that's how she classifies it because she doesn't seem to get troll stuff, but it's nice for me to think about it that way.”

John was smiling at Dirk and Dirk flushed, realizing how much he'd just opened up to a near total stranger. John laughed again and scooted closer.

“You seem really cool! I'd love to get to know you better sometime. Maybe I can make us dinner or something some night? We can talk and maybe watch a movie?” John was smirking, raising his eyebrow, and it had Dirk's face in flames. He could only nod numbly as John laughed and leaned in for a hug. “Then I'll see you then! Later, Dirk!”

Dirk focused on his breathing, trying to will away his blush, when Dave cane over and Benny to whisper in his ear.

“You're welcome, bro. But if you hurt him, you're not going to be able to flashstep away from the asskicking you'll get.”

“Fair enough, duly noted.” Dirk nodded and watched John walk away. “And thank you. He seems really nice.”

Little late but eh. @justiceforjane day four I loved the Dirkjane friendship, and wish they talked more so enough that they would've before everything told each other about how they feel for Jake. Either way, I like their friendSHIP.
