Been thinking about revamping Juliet and Blaire into new OC's (been a while since I mentioned those OC's hm)
I left the Zoophobia fandom before I got a chance to explore their dynamic which I was really sad about cuz I had a lot of cool ideas for them, design wise I also really loved Juliet so it sucks she's been dormant for so long
Inspired by HTTYD and Tarzan but it would be set in the countryside in a world where magical creatures also reside. Magic is a taboo subject and only mages under the councils authorization may study it. Capitals send out mages to villages to bless crops and hunting parties who seek to expand further into the woodland/mountains, chasing out or killing the animals that reside there
Juliet would be a normal human girl. Her dad would co-ordinate hunting parties and work closely with the council and king, born out of wedlock to a bar maiden. She's sent to the countryside as a baby after her mothers death to live with her fathers retired hunting party friend (thinking he looses an arm or something during an expedition and so enters retirement early). Juliet has no idea who her real father is
Being raised in the countryside where views on magical beings are more diverse, Juliet doesn't grow up to be quiet as stuck up and prejudice as people in the capital, so lives a fairly carefree and easy childhood.
One day when out playing Juliet finds a young harpy, Blaire, caught in a fox trap. Blaire does not speak, but after much protest and shrieking Juliet manages to pacify her enough to loosen the twine and carries Blaire down the field to the edge of the woodland where Blaire scampers away in a flurry of pitch black feathers
I have an image in my mind of Juliet trying to visit Blaire again and sneaking off into the woods to try and find her and it follows a Fox and the Hound sort of route where the two play together in the meadow on sunny afternoons, and some comical/nerve wracking events where Blaire follows Juliet home
One day, maybe when the two are young teens, Blaire leaves Juliet a shiny rock found only in the mountains on her bedside windowsill - the child equivalent of proposing to your crush with a Haribo ring - and Juliet accepts it, not realising she's basically become bonded for life to a harpy
