This one was inspired by the surface of the satellite called Europa. is the smallest of the four Galilean moons orbiting Jupiter, and the sixth-closest to the planet. It is also the sixth-largest moon in the Solar System. Europa was discovered in 1610 by Galileo Galilei and was named after Europa, the legendary mother of King Minos of Crete and lover of Zeus. very much enjoyed painting process, because it gave me a lot of room to experiment. Taygete, Pamela Rys

This is abstract painting on canvas. I'm currently creating a new series of paintings about solar system. I'm inspired by the structure of Jupiter's Moons. This one was inspired by the surface of the satellite called Taygete. It was discovered by a team of astronomers from the University of Hawaii led by Scott S. Sheppard. It was named in October 2002[4] after Taygete, one of the Pleiades, daughter of the Titan Atlas and mother of Lacedaemon by Zeus (Jupiter). It was officially named after the mythological Adrasteia, foster mother of the Greek god Zeus - the equivalent of the Roman god Jupiter. It is the second by distance, and the smallest of the four inner moons of Jupiter. It was discovered in photographs taken by Voyager 2 in 1979, making it the first natural satellite to be discovered from images taken by an interplanetary spacecraft, rather than through a telescope.I very much enjoyed painting process, because it gave me a lot of room to experiment.
