I'm thrilled to hear this because I went ahead and rewatched it this afternoon despite having absolutely watched it within the last month and now I, a person who generally approaches fic in any fandom as an opportunity to write romcoms, am taking this canonical romcom and using it as an opportunity to write some fic that's pretty insanely horny even for me:

“Andrew, come here,” she demands. She’s just a few feet away, and she wasn’t specific as to what she wanted him for. That must be why he doesn’t stand up when he goes to her. That must be why, instead, he crawls.  Margaret’s legs are crossed, her hand on one calf as she unbuckles the black patent ankle strap of her stiletto heel. It’s taking some effort, her nails too long and the strap too narrow, the buckle too tight. When their eyes meet she stops, her hands falling away like she’s forgotten what she was doing as she sits up straight and looks at him. That’s okay, she doesn’t have to remember to do things. That’s what she has Andrew for. He waits, poised on his knees in front of her, for her next order.

You should definitely read them. They're really good, and if you do not have Beauty and the beast on DVD, send me a PM, and I can give you a link :) Also, at this point somebody might have uploaded the actual TV series to the archive but I have to check when I get home.

I have read the first one already and it's great! The second one will probably happen while sitting at the dr's office next week 🤣 (And I think I know someone with the DVDs, but if not, I will let you know when we get to the end of the current Colombo season. <3)

I haven't played any of the others either, and it's fine. This game is a giant combination of Dragon Age and D&D and Divinity Original Sin, and so if you like any one of those things it's absolutely worth it.

I have not played Divinity, though I've seen it when Thing 1 checked it out and it seemed quite good, and I do like TTRPG's and have a passing familiarity with other people playing D&D specifically? And we both know I love DA so... ALSO A COMPELLING ARGUMENT!

Meme has been having a lot of fun with it AND I WANT TO JOIN THE FUN, but I've never played this kind of RPG game before and historically I have been Bad At Figuring Out Problems (looking at you Lara Croft) but on the other hand i love DnD so....

I'll admit that the mechanics of the original BG is mostly why I never played it; too many dice rolls behind the scenes. Like, I love TTRPG's but I've never been good at keeping track of the actual rules I just bullshit with people I like a lot? Randomness/dice karma is fun when it's people, I find it less fun in CRPG's... I like to know WHY I failed or succeeded at things in computer games and what in theory is possible if I played differently.

Fair! If I do break down and get it I will probably also break down and find some mods to figure out some of the mechanics for me for much the same reason :D

I have found that even if I eventually break down and try the thing and like it, I am usually pretty sure that I wouldn't have been as in to it at the time that my gut went idk meh blurgh? so. Probably a good idea to trust your gut, no matter how incomprehensible it is. <3

6. What character do you have the most fun writing? - Right now, it's a tie between mirror Lorca and mirror Pike. 👀👀👀👀👀

10. How would you describe your writing process? - Usually I get hit with an idea like a hammer to the head and just start pounding the words out like a chimp with a keyboard. Sometimes it's a little more structured, with outlines, plot points, themes and various "brass rings" I want to collect along the way. For my current ST WIP, I had a vague thought ("what would mirrorverse look like if everyone was like 25% less irredeemably evil but slightly more emotionally fucked up and morally ambiguous"), for one of my SPN ones it was "what if S15 Cas got plopped into 1x12 Faith," and for another it was "what if endverse Dean got plopped into post-15x18 SPN." Basically it usually boils down to "how can I fuck with canon to make it at least 25% more fucked up and emotionally fraught" because I'm a gremlin. :D

Ah, here is where my terrible memory gets outed. XD Honestly, I'll probably do a rewatch soon because I've already forgotten so much. LOL.

Things I definitely loved though (and I will surely think of others after I've already posted this)...

Travis. Just Travis. Everything about Travis. I love how he's not perfect. He can be grumpy and self absorbed and wallow in his own pain (which there is a lot of!) but he's also so cute and funny and quirky and has a good heart and just... I love him. I love him so much.

I also have an incredible soft spot for Jack. *clutches heart* He does things to me I can't quite explain. I constantly want to hug him.

Also love Vic. She's amazing and I wish I was her. :)

I absolutely adore the relationship between Travis and Vic. But also between Jack and Dean. And Vic and Dean. These friendships are everything.

I love the whole evolution of Travis and Emmett. I would have loved it even more if they hadn't done the 10 month jump right after they got together for real though. I wanted to see all those little moments of them finally settling into an actual relationship and not just "two people who can't stop having sex with each other". But I actually really love how their story evolved, how it wasn't perfect and love at first sight. How they struggled, but were still drawn to each other, how Emmett fell first and Travis didn't, and how Travis then also started to realize his feelings for Emmett. I want to see more of them!

Favorite moments? I'm going for the angst here, but when the *spoiler* happened with Ripley... The way Travis took Vic's hand and led her through the hallway. The way she was laying on the top of the firetruck and everyone joined her, one by one. I also just loved the whole Vic and Ripley story and I was heartbroken tbh. (I love angst though)

Oh, the whole episode where Doctor Diane comes to the station and it's all of them just laying out their trauma. That might be one of my favorite episodes. That, and the episode with the backstory of Travis and Michael and Theo. LOVED THOSE. The Travis and Michael one just... *ugly sobbing* Definitely my two favorite episodes!

The firefighter calendar thing. The mix of humor and grief in that one. Loved it.

Also liked the whole Jack with Inara and Marcus thing. I'm sad how that ended tbh. I just want Jack to find some happiness. I swear, every time he cries I die a little inside and I want to hold him.

I don't know, I'm forgetting so many things I'm sure. Right now I'm mainly just remembering the relationships tbh, both friendships and romantic relationships. I really enjoy those.

OMG, these are like all my feelings about Travis. He's so pretty when he laughs, but he's so pretty when he's sad too, and I just want to hug him all the time.

I have a lot of feels about Travis. He's absolutely gorgeous when he smiles, but he doesn't smile enough (understandably) and yes, he's also gorgeous when he's sad but I want to wrap him up in a warm blanket and hug him. The way he's struggling to keep going throughout the years, all torn up inside because of his loss. Because people get "tired" of seeing someone grieve after a while and he just... puts on a brave face and gets on with his life, but it must feel so hollow all the time.

But then, then! Emmett starts to weasle his way into his heart. And I'm sure he doesn't want it at first. He's so angry at Emmett even. But even though he doesn't want to - because he's cynical and bitter sometimes and I'm sure he would maybe like to stay that way to avoid any new hurt - he starts opening up again, and he starts to allow himself to have feelings for somebody else again. Something I'm sure he never thought he would or even wanted to.

I'm so happy he found Emmett. I'm so happy for the journey they've already gone on. Travis deserves happiness and light and love in his life again. *sobs*

He really, really wasn't, omg. Sometimes I'm really curious about their first meeting because Travis took him home, and then Emmett stayed, and then Travis just couldn't stop caring. Like, in those early episodes it's very much it's very much Emmett who is all "don't coddle me because I'm a probie" and "don't treat me differently because we hooked" up and "don't make a thing of it". And Travis keeps caring and trying despite all that. Until it becomes clear that Emmett isn't cut out to be a fire fighter and that hits him where it hurts and it catapults into the other direction. He never responds to any of it with a shrug, like, the "DON'T EVER SAY MY NAME AGAIN", that is some serious jilted at the altar dramatics, Travis.

IDK, so much of their early relationship happens of screen, but I feel like it's very obvious from Travis's strong reactions to everything Emmett does that he was really into him from the start.

I'd love to see or know more about their first meeting as well. Emmett was very much introduced as a one night stand that lingered a bit. And then oops, he starts working at the same place Travis does. And oops, he's in the closet! Awkward! So yeah, I'd love to learn more about how they got in contact.

I really have to do a rewatch because I've only seen it once, but Travis is definitely paying special attention to Emmett when he starts working there as a probie. The fact that Emmett is also a firefighter... Throwback to Michael. Does Travis feel like he's at risk of losing yet another person he's romantically involved with to the job? And then Emmett not wanting to be a firefighter at all... How does Travis feel about that? Relieved because now he's not in danger so much? Disappointed because firefighting is such a huge part of his life, because Michael was one as well, and how can anyone not want to become one? Mixed feelings for sure.

The fact that Travis is angry at Emmett for such a period of time tells me that he does in fact care. He probably doesn't know how to handle the fact that he's developing feelings for someone again. Because caring about someone equals being at risk of being hurt when they leave. Because caring about someone new after losing a spouse probably brings home a lot of new feelings of guilt as well. Is he "allowed" to fall in love again? Does that somehow dishonour Michael's memory and what they had? Does it mean he somehow cares less about Michael if he starts caring about someone else? I can see all those things going through Travis' mind.

On top of that, Emmett does some things Travis doesn't agree with. He stays in the closet longer than Travis would like. He lives his life (in the beginning anyway) in order to please his father and not to do what he himself wants in life. Travis probably can't handle the fact that he's developing feelings for someone who is so different than him. And all of that makes him so angry! But like I said in my tags, the opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. And the fact that Travis is angry shows that he's not indifferent to Emmett. At all.

So I absolutely agree with you that while we didn't see a whole lot of their early relationship (Unfortunately. I wonder if it was always the plan to get them to where they are now? Or if they gave Emmett a larger role on the show because of how good Jay and Lachlan work together?) it is clear from what we do see that Travis is not unmoved by Emmett, from the very start.
