Shooting light through a chemical mixture in to a dark room to make people and ideas larger than life links film to its entertainment blood relative- magic. A relation that it would be a shame to lose. I respect the hell out of all the filmmakers who fight to keep it alive. There is irony to these beautifully shot, digitally captured, time lapses from screenings of Tarantino’s 70mm road show print of The Hateful Eight but the relationship is useful. Cinema is medium that cherishes innovation and technology but the magic will dull when the actual film is forgotten.
