#pancake shenanigans

Squeak, squeak, huff, huff. Roll the orange gourd inside. Tiny paws, not much strength. Past the doorway, sniff, sniff, kitchen, sweets! Memories.

The little mouse, excited to return the favour, scurries on its hind legs while rolling a small decorative pumpkin into your home. It spots no napkins with holes for the eyes this time around, but it is ok. The gourd will do the watching for the both of them!

The little critter sets the pumpkin on the most prominent spot it could find, and gets to work. Chomp, chomp, scratch, scratch. Oops, munched on too much… Сrunch!

When it hears you enter, it pitter-patters under the nearest counter, observing from afar.

I was thinking of doing a live stream on pancake day so we could all make tasty pancakes and eat too much and have a chat but my bfs hob is broken so idk if i'll even be able to make pancakes 😅

*A little pancake-stealing mouse has been wandering around your, house a little lost: it has a thick napkin that's fallen onto it in the kitchen. There is a big enough hole in the material for the little critter to stick its little snout out of and for the eyes to see. It does not see your cat anywhere in sight but it sees something peculiar that startles it: a big creature in a muuuuch bigger white napkin with holes for the eyes.*

*The mouse squeaks, confused. Can mice even be that big to fully fit underneath such a big napkin?*

*A little mouse slips into your kitchen at the smell of pancakes. It sees you move the plate with the deliciousness around and waits until you are busy talking to your roommate some distance away. Then — it darts at the speed of light: climbs the chair and from there — the table cloth!

Ah! The flat cakes from the pan! How nice they smell, the mouse's stomach grumbling as the little critter squeaks excitedly and scurries to the plate. It cannot carry all of them. It cannot carry one. It cannot even carry a half. But it quickly munches off as big of a piece as it can carry — and drags it off the table.

The creature's dinner falls to the ground with a slap, the mouse following soon after — and off it does, taking its pray away, to take apart piece by piece later. Happy. No longer hungry.*

*Change? The mouse squeaks, wondering why. Nobody knows it's a mouse. Nobody knows that the bigger mouse in the bigger white napkin is also a mouse. If one of them changes then surely somebody will get caught! Be it by the human than leaves all the delicious food lying around or by the cat that might also be wearing a white napkin, even if of a medium size.*

*Sniff, sniff. Wait, Candy! the little mouse squeaks. It must be that time of the year! Forget about the big mouse! The smaller one scurries off to the side of the table to find a small pumpkin-shaped bucket. The little critter jumps right in it and burrows to the very bottom. It marvels at all the delicious smells but hurriedly picks a favourite, grabs onto it and... Realizes that it cannot jump out of the treacherous pumpkin bucket. Squeak, squeak!*

*Zu frees the little mouse later, of course.*

*The mouse is squeaking happily, almost cackling, glad the cat had other ideas.* [!!! This is amazing!!!! You're amazing!!!! HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY, YOU, BEAUTIFUL PERSON!!!!!]
