A delicious take on classic pancakes are these Chocolate Milk Pancake Donuts. They have a crispy outside and a fluffy, chocolatey inside because they are perfectly fried. Ideal for a sugary morning treat!
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup cocoa powder. 1/4 cup sugar. 1 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup chocolate milk. 1/4 cup buttermilk. 1 egg. 2 tbsp melted butter. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips. Vegetable oil for frying.
Instructions: Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and cocoa powder in a bowl. Combine chocolate milk, buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Mix the dry and wet ingredients together, stirring just until combined. Add the tiny chocolate chips and fold. In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil to 350F 175C. If you have a donut maker, use it, otherwise spoon the pancake batter into a donut pan. The donuts should be cooked through and golden brown after two to three minutes of frying on each side. Take out and let dry on paper towels. Before eating, let the donuts cool slightly.
