have you ever seen photos of Panchlora regalis? they're an underrated cockroach imo
Wow, this is a new cockroach for me!
We have the closely related banana roach, P. nivea, here on the gulf coast of texas but i've never heard of this species. Gorgeous!
Panchlora regalis, family Blaberidae, found in Suriname and French Guiana

what is your favourite cockroach? (mine is the simandoa cave cockroach!!)
I ALSO REALLY LIKE THE SIMANDOA CAVE ROACH!!! evrytime i think about what happened with their wild populations i get so upset its gen so unfair bruh 😔at least thy still survive in captivity i realy want to start a colony of them someday
as for my favorite roach of all time.. I KNOW this is such a basic answer but i adore the colors of Panchlora kozaneki i cannot believe that such vibrancy is possible on a little bug. if i ever see one irl i would actualy start geeking they are SO COOL!!!!!!!!!
also, i will go on the record to say that my fav genus of cockroach is probably Panchlora as a whole,,, each species is so beautiful to me
hello roach nerds. can anyone ID this guy?
have only ever seen it referred to as Panchlora sp. Description words often used are "blue-green neotropical cockroach, possibly from Guyana". Looking through most of Panchlora, I think the closest is Panchlora kozaneki, which has this blue color...maybe the brightness of the blue in this photo is just an anomaly?
there's a small discussion of the topic on the roachforum website, here.
