🎉 It’s a male! 🎉

Panda is now an adult butterfly, free to live out his life in the wild! I’m so proud!

(You can sex monarch butterflies by looking at their lower wings! You can see in the third picture that Panda has a spot on each wing. Those are made of specialized scales, and only males have them!)

Because I actually did my makeup and feel kinda pretty...Have a pic of my face.

So my friend @levilovato told me I should try FireAlpaca if I wanted to animate stuff. Took me a few days but when I saw him post something I finally decided to do it! So have a sleepy Sunny, one of the sableye from @your-daily-sableye as a first time practice!

I’m starting to wish I would have taken pictures of Panda with the penny for scale, because I think it really shows how much growing these little guys do!

You can also see that Panda’s chrysalis has darkened, which is a good sign that they’re developing and are close to eclosing! Monarch eggs will become clear when they are close to hatching, and monarch chrysalides will do the same!

Panda is a LOT bigger now! They’re also going to have a new sibling in a few days!
