UFO Catchers Suck!

SYNOPSIS: the one where you n Heeseung go on a fun little arcade day but end up losing plot

Hiii I'm back! lol this was originally supposed to be part of an ask but then idk ig i lost plot n this is what came out lol 😅 Also can you tell i was bullied out of calling claw machines as ufo catchers 🥀🥀 mannn ufo catcher sounds wayyy cooler than a mf claw machine smh 🙄

WARNINGS: kissing, petnames(?) (and maybe bad dialogue lol)

After spending a fruitful day at the arcade, you and Heeseung were making your way towards the ticket counter to exchange your tickets for (hopefully) some cute prizes when something catches your eye—

You stop walking completely.

And Heeseung, whom you had your arm wrapped around, also comes to a sudden halt. He looks towards you with one eyebrow raised, an unspoken question in his eyes;

"Baby, look…" you point towards the large, gleaming claw machine filled to the brim with adorable Sanrio plushies

"… i know we said that we were done for the day— but please can we make one last stop?" and you look up at him with pleading eyes, "pretty please…"

And Heeseung looks at you, really looks at you—

the way your brown eyes glimmer with hope and excitement, the way your lips - currently shaped in a cute pout - glisten from the pink lip gloss you apply especially when you go out with him (because it's his favourite), the way you took extra care with your hair today and how you're wearing the pink dress that you bought with him that one time you guys went shopping;

and all he can do is sigh and duck his his head, a soft chuckle escaping him; because at the end of the day, Lee Heeseung is truly a weak-willed man when it comes to you.

You cheer and practically drag him by the arm towards the claw machine, weaving your way through hoards of people

Heeseung chuckles, "slow down baby, the machine isn't going anywhere" you turn around to shoot a cheeky grin in response, unaffected by his teasing

you finally reach the claw machine, and instantly your eyes are drawn to an adorable little my melody plush and that's when you decide that it's the one you want.

you put the required amount of pocket change into the machine, a determined glint in your eyes— you were ready, that my melody plushie was going to be yours;

except— the first try didn't go so well, you didn't place the claw in exactly the right position so it slipped and you won nothing. :(

That's alright, nobody gets it on their first try— you're definitely going to get it this time. Except, the next attempt doesn't go so well either; neither does the one after that, nor the one after that either…

Meanwhile, Heeseung is standing off to the side a little, watching you struggle with an amused smile on his face, a gentle look in his eyes. Frustrated, you turn towards him and— "Hee…" you whine, "you're laughing at me…" you punch him lightly in the shoulder

Heeseung raises his arms in surrender, the smile never leaving his face,

"love, i swear I'm not laughing at you, "

"Yes you are, look at you— you're laughing at me right now!" you whine and stomp you're feet, and Heeseung thinks that might've been the cutest thing he's ever seen;

He finally stops laughing and asks, "having trouble getting the plushie you wanted? I could help you…" a small smirk forming on his (devilishly) handsome face,

you perk up slightly, "really?" and Heeseung pretends to think about it,before dropping the act entirely and shooting you a quick smile, "of course baby…"

"Now watch and learn…" giving you one last teasing smirk, Heeseung turns towards the machine, eyebrows drawing in focus as he carefully maneuvers the claw into exactly the right position before confidently pressing the button to retrieve the plush, a victorious smile already breaking out on his face—

The claw slips. It didn't even grip the plushie properly before sliding off. Heeseung stares aghast, a betrayed expression on his face while that stupid little plush stares back at him, expression blank, showing no remorse for the damage it dealt to his pride, shattering it to bits and pieces…

" watch and learn… " you snicker, poking Heeseung in his side, a teasing smirk on your face as his ears slowly turn red

He clears his throat and puts some more pocket change into the machine- a determined glint in his eyes- he was going to get that stupid plush, it was matter of his pride (and maintaining his image in front of his very beautiful girlfriend 😤) after all.

Once again, Heeseung focuses on maneuvering the claw into exactly the right position above the plush, eyes sharp with concentration;

Except this time, something is different, this time, the claw actually grips onto the plushie

Clank. The plush falls into the box.

You hug Heeseung, practically jumping onto him, a bright smile on you face. He staggers back a little, a smile breaking out onto his own face as you pepper him with kisses all over, muttering thank yous in between

unbeknownst to you, Heeseung's ears are slowly turning red as you pamper him with kisses but he doesn't say anything, only gripping your waist tighter and letting you do your thing

You do notice eventually though, "Aww Hee… you're blushing!" you croon, finding the sight absolutely adorable, "I didn't know i was dating a tomato!" and you can't help the giggles that escape

Heeseung has this offended look on his face, eyes blown wide and lips in a cute little pout and you can't help but peck him on the lips, soft, gentle and fleeting; a quick graze before its gone and somehow — if it's even possible, Heeseung grows even redder after that

But then Heeseung pulls you back to him again, "… you didn't kiss properly" he mutters, and then proceeds to give you the most mind-numbing, toe-curling, dizzying kiss of all time, so much so, that when he pulls back, your lips unintentionally chase after his. And when you stop yourself, its already too late. Your cheeks turn blazing hot at the realization and you avoid all eye contact with Heeseung, choosing instead to grab the (forgotten) My Melody plushie from the bottom of the claw machine.

And Heeseung? He simply watches how your cheeks turn visibly red even under the dim arcade lights and smirks, "I didn't know i was dating a tomato…" he teases lightly.

You smack him in the arm.

Later, when the two of you are (finally) walking out of the arcade, Heeseung's arm around your shoulders, he asks you— "But seriously baby, were you even this happy when we got together?" you look up at him and simply snicker, "Don't be silly Hee… of course not!" and all Heeseung can do is scoff as he pulls you closer to him only to softly kiss the top of your head and mutter "…idiot." as you shoot him a teasing smile, eyes bright and full of mischief, the My Melody plush still held tightly in your hands.

and say goodbye to your mum,

make a hundred promises about calling, coming back home in the holidays

surviving on the biggest cup of coffee known to man and,

the one banana you had 12 hours ago;

You're still grateful, really,

life has been very kind to you,

but sometimes, you're seventeen

and it's the last thing you want to be.

My Shower Sneezes

My shower sneezes before working properly,

Everyday I stand on the side and

wait for it to sneeze,

Before I bathe.

Then one day it stopped.

Initially, I was ecstatic,

Before it became weird.

Because waiting for my shower to sneeze,

Had become routine, the norm

Almost instinct,

And without the sneeze, my day felt empty
