I want to say for the duel puzzle, scoop up articuno and put ditto in the active spot, then gust of wind blastoise out. Item finder (discard electric energy and Chansey) to get scoop up to scoop up gyarados, put magikarp on the bench. Attach double colorless to ditto, then use its newly acquired rain dish to put the remaining water energy into magikarp. Attack blastoise for knock out. None of the opposing Pokemon are able to knock out ditto next turn.
You’ve got some of it, but there’s a few steps you’re missing. Don’t be discouraged, though: just give it another look and try again.
